Rum Club Pin Design
I created a commissioned piece for Will Muto to create Rum Club logo and pin design. This was sold to tiki enthusiasts as part of a fundraiser for the Last Rites in San Francisco, which was impacted by COVID-19.
Design Process
Research & Moodboards: I first started creating a moodboard with references and inspiration for the pin. The overall inspiration was Mary Blair and the Enchanted Tiki Room. I also looked at artists such as Shag and Jeff Granito for further inspiration.
Rough Concepts After establishing the look and feel through research and moodboards, I created some initial sketches that explored typography and logo treatments.
Ideations After finalizing the direction of the pin, I created variations based on the design that explored shapes.
For the final design, I envisioned the design would go beyond the pin, but it could be anything from a pirate flag to a coaster design.
